Malvern Panalytical introduces the revolutionary Creoptix optical biosensor for the evaluation of affinities and binding kinetics of biological interactions without labeled antibodies. The biosensor combines three innovative approaches.
The GCI (Grating-coupled interferometry) technology detects refractive index changes within an evanescent field near a sensor surface due to changes in mass by the complex formation of the interacting molecules. The detection of changes in the optical properties after binding/release of molecules takes place on the entire surface, in contrast to the commonly used Surface Plasmon Resonance technology, which measures at one point only. As a result, GCI technology achieves higher sensitivities, and dissociation constants for small and weakly binding molecules can be measured. The patented "WAVEchip" technology in a microfluidic clog-free arrangement ensures sample analysis without prior pretreatment. At the same time, it enables binding the biomolecules of your interest to the surface of the chip using commonly occurring functional groups such as -NH2, -SH2, -COOH. The chip surface can then be regenerated and reused. Furthermore, the sensor uses the "waveRAPID" approach for testing affinities of various analyte concentrations, where the sample is dosed to the sensor for a longer time rather than in a higher concentration, as it is with traditional techniques. This eliminates the need for concentration series preparation and thus saves laboratory work, consumables, and shortens the analysis time.
Creoptix WAVEdelta is used primarily in studying the interaction of potential drugs. For more information about the product, contact Malvern Panalytical or the local distributor - ANAMET at sales@anamet.cz.
