Biography, Education and Employment:
Reinhardt Botha is Professor of Physics at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (formerly known as the University of Port Elizabeth), South Africa. Since January 2008 he has been seconded to a SA Research Chair in Nanophotonics, focusing on the development of Sb-based epitaxial structures for mid-infrared detection, as well as chemical bath deposition of II-VI nanostructures (ZnO, TiO2) for UV/visible light emission and solar water splitting. Reinhardt is a Humboldt fellow and through his career has collaborated with several international groups, including colleagues from Germany, Sweden and the UK.
His research interests include MOCVD of III-V, II-VI and I-III-VI compound semiconductors and their optical characterisation (mainly by photoluminescence).
He is author / co-author of well over a 100 papers in international journals and has successfully supervised/co-supervised 10 PhD. and 10 MSc. students. He has served on various national science panels, co-organized several conferences in South Africa (notably a series of conferences on Photonic Materials) and has reviewed extensively for a number of scientific journals.
Conference is held on October 18th - 20th 2017 in Hotel Voronez I, Brno, Czech Republic, EU
